How Long Does Installation Take?
Almost every homeowner asks this within the first ten minutes of a design visit. Here is the honest programme, including the parts that do not photograph well.
Typical programmes
Most projects are shorter than people expect, because the visible surface goes down quickly. The groundworks take the time.
- Resin driveway — 3 to 5 working days
- Porcelain terrace — 5 to 10 working days
- Composite deck — 4 to 7 working days
- Full outdoor transformation — 3 to 6 weeks
What happens each day
Day one is protection, setting out and excavation. Day two is sub-base, compaction and edge restraints. Day three is drainage and levels. The surface itself is usually the final day, and it is the fastest part of the whole job.
What causes delays
Weather is the honest one. Resin cannot be laid onto a wet base or below around 5°C, so a February programme carries more float than a June one. Beyond that: unexpected ground, buried services, and access that turns out to be tighter than the survey suggested.
Living with the work
You keep access to your front door throughout. We agree parking and bin arrangements before day one, sheet and protect the house, and leave the site swept every evening. One person manages the project from first visit to handover.
