Choosing the Right Porcelain
Porcelain has more variables than any other surface we install, and most of them are decided before the first slab is cut.
Tone before texture
Decide first whether the terrace should recede or assert. Ivory and warm stone recede, opening up a small garden. Anthracite and graphite assert, grounding a scheme and making planting and lighting read strongly.
Slab size and proportion
Large formats — 900x600 and above — mean fewer joints and a calmer floor, and suit contemporary elevations. 600x600 is more forgiving on smaller or irregular terraces. Plank formats work beautifully as paths and around pools.

- 900x600 — the balanced default
- 600x600 — small or complex terraces
- 1200x300 plank — paths and linear schemes
Surface and slip
External porcelain is R11 rated as standard. Textured stone-effect finishes give more grip and hide everyday marks; smoother finishes read more architectural but show more.
Thresholds and levels
The single detail that lifts a terrace: bringing the porcelain out level with the internal floor, with a recessed drainage channel at the doors. Inside and outside then read as one room.
