Garden Edging Ideas
Edging is the punctuation of a garden. Nobody notices it when it is right; everybody feels it when it is missing.
Invisible edges
Powder-coated aluminium or corten steel gives a crisp 4–6mm line that separates lawn from surface without announcing itself. Best for contemporary, planting-led gardens.
Stated edges
Granite setts, block courses or a porcelain soldier course draw a deliberate frame. Suited to formal frontages and traditional properties.
Planted edges
A low clipped hedge or a gravel margin softens the meeting of hard and soft. It costs less than most hard edging and matures into the best-looking option.
