The short answer
A capped composite board on a correctly built substructure should give 25 years or more, and most quality boards carry a warranty to match.
In more detail
The board is rarely the limiting factor — the substructure is. Timber joists under a composite deck will fail long before the boards do, which is why we use aluminium framing on exposed lakeside sites.
Maintenance is a wash. No staining, no sealing, no annual treatment.
